How it works

What actually happens inside HeyJess.art, step by step.

Effective date: 10 September 2026

The five steps

  1. Tell it what the piece is for. Paste your own words or describe the moment. Nothing is shortened without showing you the original wording alongside the shorter version.
  2. Pick a look. Choose a starting style, or let your saved look carry across. Your colours, fonts and tone can be applied in one step.
  3. It makes the piece. The artwork and the words are made as separate parts, so text stays real, readable and editable rather than baked into a picture.
  4. Change anything. Edit the words, swap the artwork, move things, or ask for a variation. The wording you typed is always kept, whatever the layout does.
  5. Save it or take it away. Keep it in your projects, or download it as an image. If something will not fit or read well, you are told before you download.

What you stay in control of

  • your original wording is kept, however long it is;
  • you decide whether a piece is saved to your account or stays on this device;
  • nothing you make is published or shown to anyone else;
  • you can ask for a copy of your data, or ask for your account to be deleted.

The privacy notice sets out what is held and why.

Paying, renewing and stopping

  • the free plan needs no card;
  • a paid membership repeats every month until you stop it;
  • you can stop it yourself from your billing page — no email or phone call needed;
  • Any applicable taxes will be shown at checkout.

Full wording is on subscription and cancellation terms and billing and refunds.
